South Africa’s Singita Game Reserves has taken top honours in this year’s US Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2011 readers’ survey, scooping both 1st and 2nd places among the World’s Top 100 Hotels, as well as securing the winning slot for Best Hotel Spa in Africa and the Middle East.
Having been rated against the finest hotels around the globe, Singita Grumeti Reserves, located along the Western corridor of Tanzania’s legendary Serengeti National Park, is ranked No. 1 on the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2011 list of Top 100 Hotels Overall.
Flagship Singita Sabi Sand, home to Singita’s founding lodges Singita Ebony and Singita Boulders, as well as exclusive-use retreat Singita Castleton, followed hot on its heels as No. 2 on the coveted list of Top 100 Hotels Overall.
In a remarkable achievement, a third Singita product, Singita Kruger National Park, which encompasses Singita Lebombo and Singita Sweni Lodges with its spectacular setting overlooking the N’wanetsi River, not only made it onto this coveted Top 100 Hotels Overall list too (ranked No. 39), but it was also voted Best Hotel Spa in Africa and the Middle East in the same readers’ survey this year. |
Reminiscent of a bygone era, Sabora Tented Camp dishes up lavish doses of romance, exploration and intrigue. Creating the feel of a lavish tent, each canvas cocoon offers opulent luxury complete with antique mahogany travel chests, Persian rugs and silk curtains. Sip sundowners on the deck and gaze over the waterhole - you never know what you might see. At Sabora, we delight in creating delicious feasts using locally grown organic produce, coupled with vintage wines, in surprise settings. Imagine dining beneath a lamp-lit acacia or under the boughs of a large ‘Sausage’ tree, with starlit skies and the distant chorus of nocturnal creatures.

- Nine luxury air-conditioned tents each featuring an en suite bathroom with a bath and outdoor shower, dressing area, reading area, viewing deck with Swarovski spotting scope and a library lounge tent.
- Sabora Tented Camp accommodates 18 guests.
- Each tent has an electronic safe, standing fan, hairdryer, direct dial telephone (US lines) and wireless internet access.
- The main area of the camp offers a dining room, bar lounge with satellite television, DVD player and library, elevated viewing deck and a swimming pool.
- Tariffs include all-suite accommodation, three meals per day, all drinks, including premium wines, spirits and liqueurs (excluding vintage champagne, champagne, and vintage wines on the connoisseurs wine list) and open Land Rover safaris accompanied by an experienced guide.
- Children under 10 years old can be accommodated if the lodge is booked on an exclusive use basis.

We welcome children over the age of 10 at our lodges. Children under the age of 10 can be accommodated if the entire lodge is block booked.
Family suite at Faru Faru Lodge
The family suite at Faru Faru Lodge includes two en suite bedrooms with twin beds. It is perfectly suited to families of friends travelling together. The suite has a private viewing deck with a heated plunge pool, a lounge area and a stone fireplace. Children over the age of 10 are accommodated.
Rates for families
- Adults occupying the master bedroom pay the full per person rate. Alternatively the second room can accommodate 1 adult and 50% of the full per person rate applies.
- Children occupying the second room (max 2 children) pay 50% of the full per person rate.

Our exciting Mini Rangers’ Course opens up a whole new world to young explorers. This programme includes:
- Tracking animals
- Frogging
- Butterfly capture & release
- A cosmic safari (astronomy)
- Survival in the bush
- Flower-pressing
- Game-spotting competitions
- Nature quizzes
- Rangers' Test
On completion of the course, these proud achievers are awarded certificates to recognise their new-found knowledge.

- Twice daily game drives with professional guides.
- Luxurious all-suite accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, teas, coffees. All drinks, including premium wines, spirits and liqueurs (excluding champagnes & vintage wines).
- Laundry & valet services.
Other available services at Sabora Tented Camp include:

- Shopping - The Singita Shop stocks a range of African artefacts and curios.
- Wireless internet access.
- Satellite television in the main tents.
- Fun activities such as archery, stargazing safaris, mountain biking and tennis are all available.
- The Equestrian Centre is situated adjacent to Sasakwa Lodge and is home to sixteen horses. Experienced riders can enjoy out-rides on the Serengeti Plains. Tack is English style and guests have the choice of English or Western saddles.
- A balloon safari across the plains of the Serengeti - the cost of the balloon safari is not included in the rate.

- The Equestrian Centre is situated adjacent to Sasakwa Lodge and is home to sixteen horses. Experienced riders can enjoy out-rides on the Serengeti Plains. Tack is English style and guests have the choice of English or Western saddles.
